Legend says the first Christmas tree was created by Martin Luther. Walking in the forest one Christmas Eve. he was inspired by snow-covered trees reflecting moonlight and twinkling stars showing through their branches. So. he cut a small fir tree. took it home. and decorated it simply with candles for his children.
