The Donkey signifies patience. courage. meekness and gentleness. According to Christian legends. donkeys originally had unmarked hides. but after Palm Sunday. when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the back of a kind donkey. they all received the mark of the cross on their back as a reminder of their service.
